REVOLUTIONALIZING THE FLOORING INDUSTRY:
SURFACE PREPARATION:
Your concrete, plywood, or other subfloor must be free from dirt, dust, oil, paint, sealants, glue, grease, and debris. Clean the subfloor using a vacuum, or sweep thoroughly. The area must be clean & dry; contaminate free.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN:
Installation starts with good planning. Plan your area & design first! Mark your area out on the subfloor with a chalk line, making sure that your starter row matches it. This will determine how straight your floor will appear in the room, as well as reduce the amount of ripping that would be needed for your last row. The starter row acts as a push point, so that the floor doesn’t move during the installation. After you have spread the mix over your starting area it is recommended that you use wood or plastic spacers between the plank and the walls - about every 3 feet. Once the starter row is secured, apply the adhesive system to the substrate/subfloor with our 1/4” V-Notch Trowel.
TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF INSTALLATIONS:
Glue Down Installations Using your trowel, spread the entire adhesive EVENLY over the area that you intend to cover immediately. Do not leave any excess on your subfloor (spread it out). The adhesive will become level in appearance and trowel lines will begin to dissipate. You may begin to install the flooring over this area, according to the installation instructions provided by your flooring manufacturer. You must use your weight to press down on each board after it is glued down. We suggest placing unopened boxes of flooring on top of the floor that was just installed. This helps weigh down the flooring for better adhesion. After a few rows have been installed and as you move across the room, tape the boards together using removable masking tape to prevent boards from sliding, and to secure close-fitting joints. Working time may vary due to climate, humidity levels, and temperature. Based on lab tests, working time is an average of 90 to 150 minutes, the average being 120. If you need to make any slight adjustments or move a board slightly, do this within 2 hours of mixing the adhesive. We recommend weighing down the first few rows & last few rows along your starting/finishing walls to prevent the flooring from lifting at the edge.
TACK/DRY TIME:
Tack time 2 hours average. Dry time 10 -12 hours approximately. Any repairs should be done within 4 to 5 hours after installation.
